Today being the last day of the year, I wanted to take a moment to stop and tell each and every one of you a giant THANK YOU.
I’m heading out shortly to deliver another load of baskets which brings us to 240 since June 24, 2014. We couldn’t have done this without you! From the support at events, to the donations, to the blankets lovingly made and donated, to the baskets made and donated, the books, the stuffed animals. . . the list goes on and on. So many of you have pitched in, in so many ways. This journey wouldn’t be successful without each and every one of you. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for taking this journey with me, for believing in this project, and supporting it.
Some people may think 240 isn’t very many, but that’s 3 & 1/3 large school buses of kindergartners. It’s a whole graduating class in smaller schools. It’s a whole town population in some places. But no matter how you look at it, it’s 240 small babies that have received the gift of love and caring. Even more so are the parents, the nurses and the doctors who see your love at work. Sometimes the biggest impacts come from the smallest places. (And this is just in the last 6 months, guys!)
There are tons of organizations out there that do research and fund raise to try and prevent premature birth- which is great. But there aren’t too many out there that are focused on showering families with a little bit of love to help ease the shock of this new NICU world. Recently a parent who had a 107 day stay in the NICU with their little boy told us that “Receiving that basket was the best day in the NICU. It was so nice to know people cared about us. We had lots of good days, but that was definitely the best.”
Thanks for making the world a better place guys. Seriously. There is so much going wrong out there, but you all are helping something go right.
All you need is love.
Love to you all,
~Elizabeth
